Conference Topics

Key points of the conference

Physics & Consciousness

Physics and consciousness is a complex and multifaceted topic that spans philosophy, neuroscience, and physics itself. The scientific community continues to explore this intriguing intersection through interdisciplinary research.

Life Sciences & Consciousness

In the context of life sciences, the study of consciousness involves exploring how living organisms, particularly humans, experience subjective awareness and cognitive processes.

Artificial Intelligence & Consciousness

The ethical, philosophical, and technical challenges surrounding the intersection of AI and consciousness continue to be areas of exploration for scientific and academic communities.

Consciousness, Mind & Health

It is a complex and interconnected field that involves various aspects of psychology, neuroscience, and medicine. Understanding how mental states and consciousness impact health and vice versa.

Consciousness & Human Values

Consciousness, broadly defined as subjective awareness, self-reflection, and the capacity to experience thoughts and emotions, plays a central role in shaping human values and ethical considerations.

Vedanta & Consciousness

Vedanta encompasses various sub-schools and commentaries, but at its core, it explores the nature of reality, the self (Atman), and the ultimate reality or absolute consciousness (Brahman).

Practical Methods

Yoga, meditation, and inner reflection are interconnected practices that have been central to various spiritual and philosophical traditions. They are often utilized for promoting holistic well-being, cultivating self-awareness, and facilitating a deeper understanding of oneself and the world.

Panel Discussion

Panel discussions provide a platform for in-depth exploration of topics, offering a more compre-hensive understanding to the audience through the varied perspectives of the panelists. The panel typically consists of experts, professi-onals, or individuals with relevant experience in the subject matter being discussed.

" Now is the time to think scientifically about consciousness (and its relationship, if any to the hypothetical immortal soul) and, most important of all, the time to start the experimental study of consciousness in a serious deliberate way.."

— Francis Crick, Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine

Interface of Quantum
Physics with Consciousness

Prof. Partho Ghosh

“There can be no doubt that 'consciousness' does not occur in physics and chemistry, and I cannot see how it could possibly result from quantum mechanics. Yet any science that deals with living organisms must needs cover the phenomenon of consciousness, because consciousness, too, is part of reality."

— Werner Heisenberg, Nobel Laureate in Physics

These kind of arrangement for delivering value education even at this pandemic influence where people are so much in depression and exhaustion being unable to be free to communicate properly outside. I am very much impressed with the beautiful arrangement made by BHAKTIVEDANTA INSTITUTE who worked so hard by themselves for the welfare of everyone. Thank you.

What was most amazing was that everyone, in their own way has to the best of their ability tried to expand, explain the existing facts and give a theory to what may be... And that's the first step to any research. This platform has been a yardstick to measure up against the best in the field, a way to glance at it through a window of safety (i.e. student’s life) and prepare for what's expected in the field to come up successful if we step into research.
Akash Dilip Tejwani
Participant
I liked the in depth knowledge and dedication of each of the teachers for their research.
Siddharth Panwar
Participant
I really loved the explanation of Vedic perspective and why Science can't explain origin of life. Especially the session by Prof. Wickramsinghe and Prof Tour.
