Introduction
Quantum Foundations seeks to understand what quantum mechanics fundamentally tells us about nature. Unlike classical physics, quantum theory challenges deeply held notions of realism, causality, determinism, and locality. Concepts such as superposition, entanglement, contextuality, and measurement resist classical explanation. Quantum Information Science provides a powerful lens to re-express these foundational issues in terms of information processing, correlations, and operational principles. Ideas such as qubits, uncertainty relations, no-cloning, contextuality as a resource, and process matrices have reshaped our understanding of quantum phenomena. This group brings together physics, information theory, philosophy, and studies of agency and consciousness to address the deepest questions underlying quantum reality.

Quantum theory is one of the most successful frameworks in the history of science, yet its foundational meaning remains deeply puzzling. Questions concerning the nature of the quantum state, measurement, non-locality, information, agency, and reality itself continue to challenge our understanding. At the same time, quantum information science has transformed these foundational questions into operational tools, giving rise to quantum computation, communication, and cryptography. The motivation of this research group is to explore quantum theory not merely as a computational framework, but as a theory about information, reality, and agency. We aim to bridge conceptual foundations with modern quantum information science, fostering a deeper understanding of quantum mechanics.
